DIVISION ONE

Carlton Club A beat Little Lever 7-3 at home and it was Phil Myers who was on top form and winning his three. Ian Quinn added two, Kevin Chapman one and they won the doubles. Phil Riley won two for Little Lever and Ronnie Durose one. St.Philips lost 3-7 at home to Ramsbottom Town A. Dennis Collier won two for the home side and Dave Smith added one. Brian Clements, Graham Young and Keith Jackson each won two and they won the doubles. Burning Desire drew at home to Prestwich C. Andy Kaye won two for the home side, Ben Armstrong and Steve Barber each added one and they won the doubles. Lee Devenport and Peadar McKinstry each won two for Prestwich and Eddie Simon added one. BAE beat Prestwich A 6-4 at home and it was Tony Smith for BAE who was unbeaten on the night. Tom Lang added two and they won the doubles. Colin Boardman won two for Prestwich, David Pegg and George Jones each won one.

 

DIVISION TWO

Maccabi A lost 3-7 at home to Seedfield A. Dean Clyne won two for the home team and Alan Meltzer one. David Poytress was unbeaten for the visitors, Julian Nuttall added two, Andy Hamilton one and they won the doubles. ELPM A drew with Carlton Vale and John Dawes was the unbeaten player on the night for the home team. Paul Carter and Gillian Marsden each added one. Chris Sutcliffe won two for Carlton Vale, Dave Jackson and Steve Morris each added one and they won the doubles. Holmar A had tough night at home to Elton Vale A losing 1-9 and it was Phil Wardle who won the solitary set for Holmar. Graham Daniels and Martin Nichols were unbeaten for the visitors and Mark Craven added one plus they won the doubles. Prestwich D faced their E team and Steve Hathaway, clearly feeling much better than he did last week won his three for the D team. Keith Butler added two and they won the vital doubles at ten in the fourth to secure a 6-4 win. Ken Crimes won two for the E team, Barrie Fleet and Alex Waring won one each. Carlton Club B lost 2-8 at home to S.P.Carlton. Only Stuart Carter and Mark Reading could manage one win each for the home team. They also lost the doubles at five in the fifth. Tommy Ryan and Gareth Palmer were unbeaten on the night and John Biggins added one. In a close set Tommy got the better of Mark Reading at six in the fifth.

 

 

 

DIVISION THREE

Carlton Club C beat Seedfield C 7-3 at home with Keith Cheyne and John Bostock being unbeaten for the home team. Phil Cooper, Steven Siddall and Jonathan Fitton each won one for the visitors but Carlton won the doubles. Seedfield B scored maximum points at home against Hilton YMCA who only had two players. Mike Charlton, Alan Telfer and Deo Jones were the unbeaten Seedfield players. Maccabi B faced their C team and the match was drawn. A last set tussle between reserve Peter Canter for the B team and reserve Marc Sheldon went to the last game where Peter won eleven three to secure the draw. Peter also went to the fifth game against Frank Sheldon and Frank just won twelve ten. Robert Clayton was unbeaten for the B team, Robert Williams and Peter Canter each added one. Les Suss won two for the C team, Marc and Frank Sheldon each won one and they won the doubles at two in the forth. Shawfield A lost 2-8 at home to ELPM B. Paul Nutter won the two sets against ELPM. Steve Greave was the unbeaten played for the visitors, Carol Mitchell two and reserve John Edge also won two which included a ten in the fifth win against Phil Herd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DIVISION FOUR

Maccabi F lost 3-7 at home to Shawfield D. Yoni Morrison and Jack Nesbit each won one for the home team plus they won the doubles. Barry Collier and Alistair McIver were unbeaten for Shawfield plus Brain Philip added one. Holmar B faced their C team and just managed to win 6-4 though they had a tremendous start to the match by taking the first five sets. The next four went the way of the C team and Alan Hibbert got the better of Roy Steventon in the last set of the night to secure the win and also his three wins. Ian Ferrari won two and Trevor Candler one. Roy Steventon, Jack Berry and Gerald Quemeneur each won one and they won the doubles. Prestwich F played junior team Ramsbottom TT Academy A and the match looked to be a close one when they stood at three sets each. Prestwich however showed their experience and reeled off the last four sets to win 7-3. Alistair Wakefield won his three on the night for Prestwich which included a six in the fifth against Callum Stott. Paul Rourke and Rod Hughes won two each. Tom Warburton won his first and only set of the night in three straight against Rod Hughes. Callum Stott had a very close match against Paul Rourke after Paul won the first game eleven nine Callum won the next three at ten, eleven and ten. Ramsbottom won a very close doubles at nine in the fifth. Maccabi D faced their E team and the match was drawn. Sheldon Lee came out on top with three wins for the D team including the last set of the night at eight in the fifth against Peter Canter to get the draw. Aubrey Huller won one and they won a tight doubles and seven in the fifth. Peter Canter and Bobby Lee each won two for the E team and Edward Freeman one. Shawfield C beat a two man team from ELPM C 8-2 at home. Ashley Ingham won three, Peter Gregory and Roger Snowden two each and they won the doubles. John Edge and Harry Uren each won one for ELPM.

 

DIVISION FIVE

Seedfield D beat junior team Shawfield G 7-3 at home. Ian McKenzie, Mike Ollerton and Steve Greenall each won two for Seedfield plus they won the doubles, just at nine in the fifth. Ian McKenzie had a very close match against Josh Fallows and managed to close it out at ten in the fifth. Josh won two for Shawfield and Michael Eaton added one. Tow junior teams faced each other and it was Ramsbottom Table Tennis Academy B that won 7-3 at home to Maccabi G. Dominic Siddall was unbeaten on the night for Ramsbottom, Daniel Allen won two, Ben Duffy one and they won the doubles. Sam Ballin won two for the visitors and Adam Gillman one. Shawfield E drew with Holmar D and it was Nigel Shaw who was unbeaten for the visitors with John Heyes and Graham Wardle each adding one. James Collier won two for the home side, Peter Helmn and Lauren Brassington each added one plus they won the doubles. Wardle won 10-0 at home to Seedfield E and it was Peter Ward, Harry Barlow and Jack Gratton who were the unbeaten players. BGSOB B lost 4-6 at home to Holmar D. John Greenhalgh was unbeaten for the home team and they were only able to add the doubles to their wins. Alan Fletcher, David Bell and Gary Bolton each won two for Holmar.
