DIVISION ONE
Radcliffe CC kept up their pursuit of leaders Ramsbottom A with an 8-2 victory over Burning Desire. Nigel Hallows won his 3 with Rob Hall & Mick Dore each picking up 2 wins. Steve barber won 2 for Burning Desire. Carlton A had a convincing 10-0 win over Seedfield A. Prestwich A had a welcome 7-3 victory against Adelphi, with reserve Peadar McKinstry winning 3. Little Lever’s Ronnie Durose was pushed to 5 games by Dave Smith in a match where all games were decided by 2 points, finally winning 11-9. Ronnie won 3, as did Phil Riley, which helped Little Lever to a 7-3 win over St Philips A. Ramsbottom A won 10-0 against BAE, which meant their trio of Michael Moir, Andy Jackson & Mark Ramsbottom all maintained their individual 100% records.
DIVISION TWO
Prestwich B kept up their challenge at the top with a 7-3 win over Carlton B. Dave Bolton was unbeaten for Prestwich with Andy Evans chipping in with 2, whilst Mark Reading won 2 for Carlton. Stuart Landes again won 3 for Maccabi and with Alan Meltzer recording 2 wins they drew with Prestwich E for whom Barrie Fleet won 2. Prestwich C beat St Philips B 7-3 with Eddie Simon continuing his fine start to the season with 3 wins. Peadar McKinstry for Prestwich & Dave Holden for St Philips each won 2. Seedfield B recorded their first win of the season with a 7-3 victory against Stand, with Both Julian Nuttall and Andy Hamilton unbeaten. ELPM A kept up with the leaders by beating rivals Polish Catholic Club 7-3. It was a solid team performance with John Dawes, Andy McCheyne & Mark Willmore each winning 2. Eddie Kalinowski won 2 for Polish Catholic Club.
DIVISION THREE
In a match where all players won at least 1 set, it was Mike Charlton with 3 & Alan Carse with 2 plus a doubles win that made the difference to give Seedfield a 7-3 victory over Holmar A. Elton Vale TTC stretched their lead at the top with an 8-2 win over St Sebastians. Martin Nicholls was unbeaten, supported by 2 wins each for Graham Daniels & Mark Craven. Mark Stevens won 2 for St Sebastians, including a fine win over Top Ten Leader Graham Daniels. ELPM B won 9-1 against Seedfield D, with the latter’s sole win going to Alistair McKernan against Steve Greaves.
DIVISION FOUR
Carlton C’s lead at top was strengthened with a 9-1 over Seedfield E. Keith Cheyne & John Bostock each won 3, with Seedfield’s sole win was recorded by Jonathan Fitton against Clive Roberts. Paul Wood’s 3 wins, in his first match of the season proved the difference between the sides as Ramsbottom D beat Holmar C 6-4. Roger Whewell (Ramsbottom) & Ian Farrari (Holmar) each won 2. Three wins for Top Ten Leader Barry Warburton helped BGSOB A to a draw with Holmar B. Martin Archer & Jim Eardley each contributed 2 for Holmar. Shawfield C leapfrogged Prestwich F into second place with a convincing 9-1 win. All 3 Shawfield players, Ashley Ingham, Roger Snowden & Andrew Webster, won 3, with only the doubles being won by Prestwich. In the all Shawfield clash the D team beat the E team 6-4. Barry Collier was the unbeaten player.
DIVISION FIVE
Callum Stott & Nicky Kroll each won 3 for Ramsbottom TT Academy A in their 7-3 win over Shawfield G. John Greenhalgh of BGSOB B continued his fine form with 3 wins against Wardle Conservative Club but the latter still ran out 6-4 winners. Maccabi E with a 9-1 victory at Holmar E go top of the table. Peter Canter & Edward Freeman each won 3 for Maccabi, but performance of the night was Nigel Shaw’s victory for Holmar by 13-11 in the 5th over high-flying Bobby Lee. Prestwich G won 6-4 against Seedfield E with Bob Goodman contributing 3 wins. Adam Simpson (Seedfield) inflicted a 2nd defeat of the season on Ian Ross (Prestwich). Maccabi F beat Holmar D 8-2 to go ahead of their opponents in the table. Alan Nesbitt with 3 continued his fine run of wins.
