1             Minutes of the meeting held on 27 September 2010

Approved

2             Closed Championships

The date of the Championships will be 20 March and the booking at Radclyffe School has been confirmed.

3             Subs and Fees

All payments for advertisements and sponsorship had been received except for Howards and Andy Kaye.

Adelphi fees were still outstanding.  Stand had paid late and paid the relevant fine.

Fines were owed from last season by Hilton Bury and Wardle A.  The latter had agreed to pay.

4             L&CTTL

The fine had been paid.  GJ should take care to avoid a repeat next season.

5             Lee Devenport

Lee had confirmed his resignation from the committee because of other commitments.  It was agreed not to seek an immediate replacement.

6             Championships Sub-committee

This is Graham, Rodney and Keith W.  The first two will arrange a meeting in January when Keith has returned from holiday.  Simon King had offered his help and the Sub-committee will contact him if required.

7             Maccabi

Edward Freeman had agreed to check that there were no more problems with shutters being closed at Maccabi while players were still in the building.

8             Handicaps

KC had analysed the results from both Dwyer and Sponsor’s Cups, with the emphasis on matches with a wide margin of victory.  He was satisfied with the handicapping generally; there will always be some exceptional circumstances leading to easy wins.

A meeting had been arranged to set the handicaps for the next round.

9             Awarded Matched

The points to be awarded to the “innocent parties” have yet to be determined for the few cases so far this season.

10          ETTA individual membership

Keith B explained that he had not yet made the detailed return to the ETTA as he still awaited information from a number of clubs.  He was expecting to be able to submit it in January.

He would check whether any of the eligible people wished to become honorary members of the ETTA.

11          Spare table

Andrew reported that a spare table had become available.  There was no known requirement for this at present but if possible it would be stored and information circulated.

12          Other business

Rodney questioned the attitude to the handicap competitions of some of the “top” teams.  Last season had seen a number of these teams fail to turn up for matches.  This season he knew of at least one that appeared not to want to win their match.  Ken pointed out that a similar point had been discussed at the AGM and two proposals allowing opt-outs had been heavily defeated.

13          Next Meeting

Monday 7 February 2010 at Seedfield.
