Minutes of a meeting of the Committee of the Bury and District Table Tennis League

1             Matters arising

Use of Rochdale League trophies.  KC had discussed this with 1^st Choice in Oldham.  The trophies can be adapted but he has had some difficulty in making contact with the company since the initial meeting.  He will pursue this.

 

2             ETTA membership

KW is monitoring the membership status of the League’s players.   The ETTA online system is working well but there appears to be at least a week’s delay in the statuses being updated after payment.  It was agreed that he will check what the ETTA have to say about the delays and, depending on their response, he will contact club secretaries.  The message will be that any player shown as unpaid at the end of September must provide proof to the League by mid-October that they have in fact paid.  Failing that, they cannot play in the League from 17 October and any result would be void and a fine applied.

 

3             Handbook invoice

KB will chase this.

 

4             Treasurer

GW reported that the accounts had been audited.

Two thirds of the clubs have paid their subscriptions and most of the advertisers have paid.

 

5             Website

Firefox users cannot see the team records correctly. KC is hopeful that he will be able to resolve this problem soon.

Joe Redikin is experimenting with the new TT365 software and website for the Oldham League.  KW had looked at this but his initial reaction is that much more work would be required to enter the results as every score in every game has to be entered.

 

6             Ranking lists

One Seedfield player has been re-ranked.  KC agreed to talk to Prestwich TTC about the ranking of one of their players.

 

7             Fines

Very few have been imposed so far. 

 

8             Dwyer Cup

The draw is now on the website.

GW wished to resign from the handicap committee so BG offered to take his place.

The handicap for all cup matches before Christmas will be based on last season’s percentages.  Thereafter they will be based on the results up to Christmas.  A further review will take place for the finals.

 

9             ELPM C

This team had been forced to withdraw from the League because of a shortage of players.  The Committee decided that no sanctions would be imposed against the club or players.

 

10          Chairmanship

KC informed the Committee that he will not be standing for re-election to the Committee or Chair for the next season for personal reasons.

The Committee were disappointed to hear this.  It is up to the Committee members to find a suitable replacement.
