DIVISION ONE

Little Lever beat Prestwich B 7-3 at home and Phil Riley led the way for the home team with three wins. Ian Lansdale won two, Steve McNicholas one and they won the doubles. Andy Evans won two for the visitors and Dave Bolton one. Radcliffe Cricket Club beat Carlton Club a 7-3 at home. Jim Chadwick led the way for the home team with three wins, Nigel Hallows and Rob Hall each added two. Ian Quinn was the only Carlton player to add wins with two and they also won the doubles. Prestwich A beat their C team 8-2. Colin Boardman was unbeaten for the A team, Duncan Hadfield and reserve Paul King each added two plus they just took the doubles at ten in the fifth. Eddie Simon and Simon King each won one for the C team. Burning Desire drew at home with St.Philips. Andy Kaye and Steve Barber each won two for the home team and Ben Armstrong one. Dennis Collier and Clive Taylor each won two for St.Philips and they won the doubles.

 

DIVISION TWO

Seedfield Methodists A beat ELPM A 10-0 at home. David Poytress, Peter Mears and Julian Nuttall were the unbeaten players. Gerry Faulkner took Peter Mears close and only lost at four in the fifth. Gillian Marsden lost at nine in the forth to Julian Nuttall. Prestwich D beat Elton Vale A 7-3 at home. Steve Hathaway led the way for the home team with three wins including a win at eleven in the fifth over Graham Daniels. The match started with three wins for Prestwich before Elton won the next two. The match then drifted away from Elton with four wins in a row before Graham Daniels stopped the rot by beating Keith Butler in four. Joe Redikin added two for Prestwich and Keith Butler on plus they took the doubles. Graham Daniels, Mike Nicholls and Mark Craven each won one for Elton. Carlton Vale lost 4-6 at home to Polish Catholic Club though Chris Sutcliffe won his three for the home team. Only Dave Jackson could add to the score with one win. Eddie Kalinowski and Ian Byrne each won two for the visitors, Eddie Robakowski one and they won the doubles. Maccabi A beat Prestwich E 8-2 at home and Stuart Landes and Dean Clyne were unbeaten for the home team though Dean did have a struggle in his last set of the night by just winning at ten in the fifth. Alan Meltzer added one and they won the doubles.

 

DIVISION THREE

Carlton Club C lost 3-7 at home to Maccabi B. Steve Evans won two for the home team and Keith Cheyne won one. Melvyne Levene, Robert Clayton and Robert Williams each won two for the visitors and they won the doubles. Seedfield C lost 3-7 at home to Ramsbottom Town B where Martin Ormsby was the unbeaten player on the night for the visitors. Roger Whewell and Tim Fields each added two; Tim lost the opening set of the night at nine in the fifth to Phil Cooper which was Phil’s only set of the night. Phil lost at nine in the fifth in his last set of the night against Martin. A tight doubles was won at eight in the forth for Seedfield and Jonathan Fitton added their other win. ELPM B drew at home with Seedfield B and it was Carol Mitchell who was the unbeaten player on the night for the home team. Gerry Faulkner added one as did Harry Uren over Phil Cooper at ten in the fifth. Alan Telfer and Mike Charlton each won two for Seedfield and they won the doubles. Maccabi B beat Elton Vale B 7-3 at home and Frank Sheldon and Les Suss being the two unbeaten Maccabi players. Marc Sheldon added the other win. Keith Mills won one for the visitors and Frank Green also one which was against Marc Sheldon at seven in the fifth. DIVISION FOUR

Bury Grammar School Old Boys A won 7-3 at home to Maccabi F. Barry Warburton was unbeaten on the night for the home team, Martyn Warburton won two , Andy Evans one and they won the doubles. Alan Nesbit won two for the visitors and Jack Nesbit added one. Holmar B beat Shawfield C 7-3 at home and Alan Hibbert was unbeaten for Holmar. Two of his sets went to five. The first of the night he just won at nine in the fifth over Andrew Webster. His last set against Ashley Ingham he won at twelve in the fifth. Ian Ferrari for Holmar had a close game for his one win of the night at twelve in the fifth against Peter Gregory. John Millington won two for Holmar and they won the doubles. Ashley Ingham won two for Shawfield and Peter Gregory one. Prestwich G lost 2-8 at home to their G team with Bob Goodman the only G team player to get on the card with two wins. His first set of the night he lost at nine in the fifth to Alistair Wakefield who maintained his unbeaten record so far this season. Rob Hughes just lost out in his last set of the match at seven in the fifth to Bob Goodman. Ian Ross won two and they also won the doubles. The juniors in Ramsbottom TT Academy A had a last set of the night win at home over Holmar C where Tom Warburton was unbeaten on the night for the home team. Callum Stott won two and they maintained their unbeaten doubles record this season. Roy Steventon won two for Holmar and was close in his last set losing at three in the fifth against Tom. Jack Berry had a close win at eight in the fifth against Nick Kroll and Gerald Quemeneur added the other win. Shawfield D lost 2-8 at home to Maccabi E. Barry Collier and Andrew Ingham each won two for Shawfield. Bobby Lee was the unbeaten Maccabi player, Stuart Simpson and Edward Freeman each won two and they won the doubles.

 

DIVISION FIVE

Seedfield E lost 0-10 at home to ELPM D. Lawrence Paynter, Antony Vindice and Mario Piazza each won their three and they won the doubles. Shawfield F lost 3-7 to their G team and it was Joshua Fallows who was in the best form with three wins, James Aadahl and Dean Walmersley each added two. Scott Fleming was the only F team player to get on the score card with two wins and they won the doubles. Holmar E beat Seedfield D 7-3 at home. Graham Wardle was unbeaten for the home side, John Heyes won two, Nigel Shaw one and they added the doubles. Mike Ollerton won two for Seedfield and two nil up against Graham Wardle and lost. Mike reversed his fortunes against John Heyes coming from one game to two down to win. Ian McKenzie was the only other Seedfield player to get on the scorecard with one win. New team to the League this year Maccabi G had their second win of the season 6-4 against Holmar D. Sam Ballin did all the damage with three wins for Maccabi, Adam Gillman won two and they won the doubles. David Bell won two for Holmar, Alan Fletcher and Gary Bolton one each. Bury Grammar School Old Boys B lost 3-7 at home to Shawfield E. Graham Hilton won tw for the home team and John Rowlands on. James Collier, Peter Helmn and Lauren Brassington each won two for Shawfield and they won the doubles. Wardle beat junior team Ramsbottom TT Academy B and it was Dominic Siddall who had the one win for the visitors. David Wardle and Jack Gratton each won their three for Wardle, Harry Barlow two and they won the doubles.
